Good Day to
you my friend Welcome to
Las Vegas, and Clark County. We hope to see you out and about and maybe at
our Range. As a new man
in town, and a guy that likes to shoot a gun now and then, we have to have
a talk. It won’t take long and it is about something that is quite
disturbing. Clark County has A Hand Gun Registration Law!!! I know the
Nevada State Constitution says that there will not be Gun Registration in
Nevada, but we have one!! However the law is written, the old adage that
“A Rose by any other name is still a Rose” applies here. Until someone
with enough money to get a good lawyer or we get a Governor that likes to
shoot pistols, we are stuck with the Law. Enough about
that. In Clark County if you wish to take a pistol out side of your home
legally, you must have a blue card for that pistol with you. That’s it,
no ifs, ands, or buts about it, if you have a pistol and are stopped by a
police officer for any reason and he asks if you have a pistol with you,
You better have the card for that pistol also. These cards
are easy to get and are free. Any police headquarters will register a
pistol or a small number of them. It would be best to call ahead to find
the best time for them and how many they will do at a time. I have never
had a bad experience with any of the officers; they have always been
friendly and ready to help out. |

Busted Cowboys
“Bent Cowboys” |
Silver City Shooting
Society Busted Cowboys (This ain’t no rule,
this is just the way we do things!) Sometimes called
“Broken Cowboys” or “Busted Buckaroos”. We at the Silver City
Shooters Society are fully committed to make every shooter’s experience
a good one. “Busted Cowboys” can
be defined as shooters who have a physical condition that may make
participating in regular scenarios difficult or impossible. The SCSS says
“There
ain’t nothin’ impossible if’n ya put a couple heads together!” We
are committed to working with each and every “Busted Cowboy” to help
him or her complete the scenarios safely and have fun. We will provide a
“side kick” for each Busted Cowboy if requested. The “side kick”
is there to help stage firearms, get a wheel chair from place to place,
take firearms after a stage to the unloading table, or whatever the Busted
Cowboy needs to make this a truly fun and safe experience. So if yer a Busted
Cowboy yer more’n welcome among the cowboys and cowgirls of The Silver
City Shooters Society. If ya need a little accomodatin’ or a lot, just
let us know. There ain’t no reason that yer experience cain’t be
tremendous! “Bent Cowboys” The folks at the Silver
City Shooters Society also wish to extend a warm invitation for all of the
“Bent Cowboys” out there to come and shoot with us as well. “Bent
Cowboys” are those buckaroos and buckerettes that have chronic or
occasional difficulty ranging from arthritis to recent surgery to a heart
condition to whatever. We want y’all to know that we will accommodate ya
so that ya can shoot whatever class you want to. If ya want to shoot
duelist, but ya just cain’t cock the revolver with the same hand that ya
shoot with, don’t fret. We’ll let ya cock with the off hand and then
fire the revolver duelist style. If ya cain’t bend down to shoot from a
kneeling position, again don’t be concerned, we’ll let ya shoot
standing’ up! |
