On our way to Western Cup we caravan-ed down with
Belmont, Tonopah and Footloose Phil. All the way down there was
snow, until we reached Beatty, then there was no snow. We
arrived around 4:00 p.m. Thursday to very cold weather. Several
of our water pumps had frozen, so they had to thaw out. Friday
we got up for the side matches to very cold windy weather (not the
kind we were looking forward to).
That evening we had a pot luck in our 5th wheel,
as it was way to cold otherwise.
At least we were warm.
Friday we got up to sun and no wind, how is that for
planning!!! Started shooting at 8:30. We had 14 shooters in
our posse
There were 71 shooters all together and we really had a
nice time.
We want to thank again our score keeper. Lunch time came and we had a nice lunch. Everyone lined up Daisy went around most of the morning looking at everyone for awards. After lunch they gave out awards and Belmont won 1st place for Ladies Shooting Costume and I won 2nd place After we finished the last 4 stages. There were several vendors selling their wares
We all finished really early and had plenty of time to
get rested and dressed for the banquet that night at 7:30 p.m. Here is
pictures of our group.
After dinner they gave out awards for each category.
In our group Sam won 1st place for Modern, and 1st
place for Men's Best Dressed, and I won 3rd for Ladies Senior.
Belmont won 1st for Ladies Gunfighter Dogwood Annie won 2nd for Ladies 49'er and Rusty Ravine won 4th for Classic Cowboy.
That night it poured down raining and was very windy.
Sunday morning we left and the wind pushed up home. There
was no snow along the way home, it had all melted while we were down
there. A nice picture I took on the way home
We are looking forward to going again next year, as we always have a good time.
