National
Day of the Cowboy
The
Nevada Rangers are inviting all cowboys and cowgirls to
a get together on Saturday, July 26, to introduce the
"National Day of the Cowboy" to southern Nevada .
The idea is to promote the day and Cowboy Action
Shooting by having all the clubs dress out and gather for a spell
on Fremont Street beginning around 10:30 AM and ending about 2:00
PM . Bring your pards, your clubʼs flyers
and brochures and promote the greatest shooting sport ever on the
first annual National Day of the Cowboy done up in Southern Nevada
Cowboy style. Weʼre also going to have a
potluck at the Henderson Saddle Asso. at 6490 Wiesner Road
beginning at 6:00 PM.
Wiesner
Way parallels Boulder Highway one block East. The easiest
way to get there is go East on Sunset Road from Boulder Highway
one block, turn left (North) on Burns Road which becomes Wiesner
Way. It's just pass Rinker Concrete Pipe Plant.

Ranger Fourth of July
Fireworks
The
Rangers will be staffing a fireworks both at
Pecos
and D.I. at the D.I. entrance to the Albertson shopping center SW
corner of the intersection. Weʼll be staffed up and
supplying some Pop, Bang and Boom (no Clang) for the celebration
of our American Independence from June 28th until
late in the evening of the Fourth so, come on by (buy) and say
Howdy!!

Helldorado Whiskerino Contest
Red Rock got some of the cowboys to join him in the Whiskerino Contest this
year which was held downtown on Fremont Street on Mat 17, 2008. This
year Red Rock didn't win and didn't get a belt buckle. I can proudly say
that out of the six beard categories:
Whitest, Blackest, Multicolor, Best Elk, Most Unique, Best Overall
Joe Gill got 1st place for the Whitest Beard
Big Mad Dog Dave got 1st place for the Blackest Beard
Cactus got 1st place for the Best Overall Beard.
Out of the six categories, the cowboys managed to win half of them. Hee-Haw!
